|What GED Graduates are Saying!|
"Susan's books helped me to quickly review for my GED test. They also helped me to learn geometry." -- Angel Fallwell, GED Graduate, November 2007
" I recently had the opportunity to participate in the first of its kind GED Plus Class sponsored by the Oklahoma National Guard. Although I was originally skeptical of my ability to pass the GED exam, Susan Bernard and "I'm Not Afraid of Math Anymore!" made it possible for me to not only meet minimum requirements but also to exceed the standard math score and pass on my first attempt.
Susan's unique style of writing makes math easy to understand and possible to learn. I am confident that "I'm Not Afraid of Math Anymore!"® will be an asset to future classes offered by the Guard, and I highly recommend her books to anyone interested in accomplishing their goals and passing the GED.
With Susan's help, it can be done. Thank You Susan!" - Kenny Acuff, GED Graduate, December 2009
"I joined the National Guard to get my GED and further my education so that I could get out of my dead-end job. Because I use math a lot in everyday life, math was one of my strong points. But using Susan's books caused math to make more sense. It was even easier than the way I learned in high school!!! Her books would be perfect for every student young and older alike!!! Thank you, Susan, for making my job easier to do and less stressful and for showing me easier and better ways to get my math done!!!" - Gary Brown, GED Graduate, December 2009
"The books, "I'm Not Afraid of Math Anymore!" ® were great. They helped me to understand math much better than I understood it before I came into this GED program.I love how the books explain what we're learning and how I can check the answers right after I am done with the section. I also love how Ms. Bernard has these cute little sayings to help us remember how to do math problems." - Alba Wade, GED Graduate, December 2009
" I can definitely say that Ms. Susan Bernard's math books have really helped me for my GED test taking and have made my math learning easier like never before." - Maria Guerrero, GED Graduate, December 2009
"Since I have been in Susan's class, I have learned more about math than I did when I was in high school, and her books, "I'm Not Afraid of Math" have really helped me. In her books, she explains how math problems are solved in terms that are easy to understand - even for those who have been out of school for more than 20 years. I would highly recommend her books to anyone who is going to get their GED." - Dale Cedar, GED Graduate, December 2009
"It has been 28 years since I was in school. I was afraid to even try to take a GED class, but I did at OCCC and was in Susan Bernard’s class. We used the three math books that she wrote. Being out of school for so long, I didn’t already know a lot of the math, but her books showed me step by step how to work the math. It was very easy and helpful. After studying the three books, I took my GED test and passed. I would like to thank Susan for the time and effort she put into writing those books. If you’re thinking about going to a GED class, I would do it and request to study from the books that Susan has written. They will help you to learn in an easy way." – Patricia Stevens, GED Graduate, December 2009
"As a high school dropout, I knew that at one point I would need to get my GED in order to further myself in the many careers out in the world. However, there was one subject that I was petrified of more than the rest and that was math!
At the end of January 2009, I decided to take a leap of faith and go to GED classes, where my first teacher introduced me to math and I realized that I liked math very much after all. During one session, he introduced us to another GED teacher who was going to teach us about the essay portion of the GED test. Her name was Susan Bernard. I had a lot of questions for her that night, and the impact she had on me led me to her website where I discovered and purchased her math books, "I'm Not Afraid of Math Anymore!" ® As I began to study them, it bacame clear that not only were they interesting, but also for so many people like me, it had real life situations written into the book that made it easier for me to apply what I was learning.
In August 2009, I took the GED test for the very first time. It was the most amazing feeling being in the test room with all the other students who had come to take the test along with me. We were nervous, but excited to be part of something much large than ourselves. However, when I got the results, it was clear to me that I was going to need to study more in the math area. I enrolled in one of Susan's classes and continued to study from her math books. In November 2009, I passed with flying colors! So when it comes to Susan's "I'm Not Afraid of Math Anymore!" ® books, I highly recommend them! If you will study them thoroughly, you can pass the GED Math Test, too." - Jennifer Pennington, GED Graduate, November 2009
"I have always struggled with math. I could never grasp what everybody else could when teachers would try to explain what to do, but when I started Susan's class, I realized right away that this time, I would reach success. Susan has a way of making math concepts easy to see. She knows how to speak the language of math to people like me who had a serious math block from years of failure in math. In just a few hours, she taught me lessons that I had given up trying to understand years ago." - Lisa Calvert, GED Graduate, December 2009
"I have really enjoyed being in Susan Bernard's GED class. I came in three months ago with a 7th grade math level. Wow! I can't express enough just how much this class has done for me and my future. I am now a proud student who has my GED! Without the "I'm Not Afraid of Math Anymore!" books, I would still be afraid. Now math comes naturally." - Roxie Hood, GED Graduate, November 2009
"I knew how to work almost every problem on the GED math test because of Susan teaching me with her books. I have a learning disability in math, but Susan made it easy enough for me to understand that I could pass. I have accomplished my main goal, and now I can get a good job to provide for my kids." Randa Smith, GED Graduate, June 2008
"Hi. My name is Michael Parker. I was sent to the Mid-Del Adult Class to better my math skills. Fractions were one of the hardest parts for me. Once I got to class, my teacher Susan let me study the lesson Fearless Fractions from her math book. My problem was that I did not know when to add, subtract, divide, or multiply. As I started to read, the easier it started to get. Now I can multiply, divide, subtract, add, make improper fractions, and proper fractions. I can turn the improper fractions into a whole number and proper fraction and then reduce it. All it took was a little time and a lesson called Fearless Fractions. That is a good name for the lesson because the fractions had fear in me." - Michael Parker, high school graduate working to improve skills, March 2006
"I studied from the "I'm Not Afraid of Math Anymore!"® books, and I can truly say they are a useful tool. Due to fear of failure, I often neglected to study math because it always seemed too complicated. I would also get discouraged when my children came home with math homework, and I couldn't understand it well enough to help them. Well, not anymore! Now I am able to assist my children with their homework, and I am also a GED graduate. Thank you Mrs. Susan for all of your love, support, hard work, and dedication. You are heaven sent."
-- Angela Hopkins, GED Graduate, June 2008

"When I was in school, I had a learning disability. I needed help in math to pass my GED. To my surprise, in our GED class, there was this little dark-haired angel teacher who had compiled a set of books oddly enough titled "I'm Not Afraid Of Math Anymore!" She took the time to explain how and why things are the way they are. I passed my GED on the first try. Too Cool! I feel it never would have happened if it hadn't been for Susan and her books."
"It was very refreshing to come in contact with her and her ways and ideas of teaching. A long time ago, someone told me "Those who can, do. Those who can't, teach." Susan has proven to me that the saying is not true. God blesses all of us with something that makes us special. He has given her the most precious gift of all -- to teach. I believe that I was sent to her so she could help me help myself."

My first teacher confused me more than I already was. Then I went to Susan's class. Thanks to her method of teaching, I gained the knowledge and confidence needed to pass my test.
